Stabilization of inter-area oscillations in two-area test system via centralized interval type-2 fuzzy-based dynamic brake control

Abstract Inter-area oscillations are, by far, the most detrimental oscillation category to integrity of synchronously interconnected power systems. are characterized inherent weak damping. The poor damping associated with inter-area leaves open wide probabilities for irrevocable widespread blackouts consequent eventual devastating outcomes measured in terms huge economic casualties and possible human fatalities. main purpose this work is mitigate oscillations. This article explores effectiveness dual thyristor controlled braking resistor units Interval Type-2 fuzzy-based centralized architecture neutralizing jeopardy Kundur’s two-area test system using MATLAB™/Simulink environment. proposed scheme examined considering four case studies different degrees severity. simulation results show that simple yet effective treating appropriately under considered studies.
